Kala Utsav Competition – 2021-22

ala Utsav is an initiative to pro-
mote arts in education by nur-
       Kturing and showcasing the artis-
tic talent of school students in the
country. In the context of education of
Arts (Music, Dance, Visual Arts, and
Crafts), the initiative is guided by the
       recommendations of the National Cur-
       riculum Framework 2005. The Min-
istry of Education recognizes the im-
       portance of aesthetics and artistic
       experience of secondary level students,
       creating awareness about India's rich
cultural heritage and its vibrant diver-
       sity.
        The District/State/National level
Kala Utsav has been structured as an
art festival to include performances and
display exhibits. This event gives stu-
       dents the opportunity to understand
and celebrate cultural diversity at the
school, district, state, and national lev-
els. It spreads awareness among stu-
dents and creates awareness about In-
       dia's rich cultural traditions and
       practices among different stakeholders.
The traditions also show us the creative
expansion from individual to the com-
       munity, which contributes to society's
overall development. It provides an op-
       portunity and favourable environment
to nurture and showcase the talents of
       Children with Special Needs (CSWN)
and helps make learning more expres-
sive, creative, and joyful. Sharing the
stage collectively by boys, girls, students
       from disadvantaged groups, and stu-
dents with special needs will be a pre-
       cursor in breaking many existing
       stereotypes.
