DIRECTOR OF SCHOOL EDUCATION
GOVERNMENT OF TELANGANA
MESSAGE
State Council of Educational Research and Training, Telangana, has prepared an
Alternative Academic Calendar for the year 2021-22 on the lines of Covid response Action
Plan guidelines to compensate the loss of educationally productive days of the students in
Telangana due to the present COVID-19 crisis.
The major objective of this alternative academic calendar is to provide the School
Heads and teachers with a model of transactional plans and timelines to meaningfully engage
the students in educational tasks and enable them to keep in regular touch with the teaching
learning and assessment process.
While we continue our efforts initiated last year, it is to be acknowledged that
achieving the learning outcomes and giving basic awareness on the core concepts prescribed
for their respective classes’ stands as a major challenge in front of us. A 4 week bridge
course is initiated for this purpose.
It is hoped that the School Heads and teachers will use all the available social media
platforms to ensure the maximum participation of the students. The worksheets provided may
be utilized both as teaching learning material as well as assessment tools both in bridge
course and class wise teaching. They may be worked out by students under the guidance of
teachers.
School Heads are further expected to involve parents and community leaders in this
process to create a conducive environment for continuation of educational activities till the
clouds of COVID 19 are lifted and schools begin to function as usual.
I appreciate the efforts put forth by SCERT, Telangana in preparing the academic
calendar.
