hildren are the future of the country. A holistic learning approach is needed to nurture
them into skillful and knowledgeable individuals. Learning beyond textbooks gives
Cthem wide exposure to diverse knowledge and sparks curiosity to identify a problem
and overcome the challenges on their way to finding solutions. To achieve it, the School
Education Department has issued directions to the state-run schools to take up several ini-
tiatives to encourage children to learn lessons practically using theoretical knowledge and
bring them close to technology. At the same time, our school heads and teachers are doing
their best to improve students' academic performance and bridge the learning gaps.
What is holistic development? I believe holistic development is achieved only when children
are nurtured well academically and patriotically. Alongside academics, teaching moral and
ethical values fine-tunes the behaviour and mindset of students. We are doing our best by
taking the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations of Indian Independence to schools through
different programs that fill new enthusiasm in them. As part of the celebrations, a film
screening on Mahatma Gandhi was organized that ignited the spirit of nationalism in every
child.
With this edition, we bring you the results of the National Achievement Survey – 2021,
Tholimettu (First Step) program at the primary level in the State of Telangana in partnership
with Central Square Foundation, a voluntary organization for improving basic linguistic &
numeric competencies to achieve class-wise learning outcomes in the academic year
2022-23, celebrations of International Moon Day at NRSC, Hyderabad, the inauguration of
ISRO Space Bus at Sir C. V. Raman Science Museum Sangareddy District.
I appreciate all the efforts of school heads and teachers to shoulder multiple responsibilities
focused on imparting key knowledge to students and guiding them academically. We, the
School Education Department, are marching forward to cultivate students' essential skills
and knowledge in order for them to become young student scientists. I wish the number of
young student scientists grows yearly, significantly contributing to the country's
development.
